An E-Bike Adventure with Alex Holowko

An e-bike adventure to Engelberg is an experience like no other. Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, surrounded by stunning peaks and picturesque valleys, makes it an ideal location for e-biking.

This particular trip together with Alex Holowko is catered towards advanced riders (see Skill & Fitness Page). Alex used to race mountain bikes, so expect a fast pace and tons of fun. Riding with a PRO is the best way to develop as a rider and become more comfortable with technical terrain.

Riding together with Alex, will also provide you with the opportunity to learn how to capture the best videos while riding. Alex has tested an perfected the angles & settings for getting the most out of an action camera (especially the Insta360) and will happily share all his findings with you during the trip.

Sample Itinerary

Wednesday

Arrival at Ski Lodge Engelberg, where a LeRipp representative will meet you and help you get settled in. We will meet at the bar in the evening to go through the weekend's plans before dinner is served in the hotel's restaurant. According to the word on the street the best restaurant in town.

Thursday

Explore the Engelberg valley. We start with a few warm up runs in the bike park on the Titlis side in classic alpine terrain with a long and dreamy descent back to town. After lunch we head over to Brunni, the sunny side, where we enjoy the views of the characteristic peaks of Hahnen and Spannort while pedalling up to Brunni Hütte. We grab a quick coffee on the sunny terrace before heading down the locally famous single track Walenpfad all the way down to Wolfenschiessen. From here we take the train back to a well deserved après bike at Ski Lodge.

Friday & Saturday

After a steady breakfast, bike check and tuning we head out for our next day. One of the days will be spent tackling the legendary Surenenpass trail, taking you from 2,292m all the way down to the lake at 432m by the lake. A trail with breathtaking views and challenging terrain that will be a memory of a lifetime.

The second day we normally head down the valley from Engelberg covering the areas around the Lac Lucerne, Beckenreid and Sarnen with the shuttle assist of a van. For the braves ones, each day is ended with a dip in a lake followed by a well-earned après bike in the Ski Lodge garden, topped off with a filling and delicious 3-course dinner.

Sunday

Normally a relaxed morning at the lodge before returning back to the airport but depending on your departure time there is an opportunity to go for half a day riding before leaving Engelberg (subject to availability of the guide and additional cost).

Lover of mountain bikes, adventure, and also known for drinking way too much coffee! Born and raised in Manchester, Alex found his true passion in downhill mountain biking at a young age.
